Inspection is a key activity for providing the plant operator with the present condition of his steam generation system, whether boiler or HRSG. The scope of the inspection will of course vary with the age, design and available outage time. What's important is to plan and execute any inspection with the guiding principle that the expended effort and resources are applied "judiciously".
